Course Number and Title: SLA210H1F – Russian for Heritage Speakers

 

Description: This course is designed for students with Russian background, students raised in homes where Russian is/was spoken, who speak or merely understand basic Russian but are otherwise illiterate in Russian (cannot/have difficulty reading or writing). This course helps heritage learners of Russian develop/maintain writing and reading skills as well as develop cultural literacy.

Class schedule: (1) Tuesday 9:00 am-11:00 am, Thursday 9:00 am -11:00 am

Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025

 

Salary:  Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90

-Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $9,930.79

-Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77

-Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,326.62

-Sessional Lecturer III $10,362.76

-Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $10,570.02.

 

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Completed Ph.D. in Slavic Languages & Literatures. Experience teaching online required.

 

Description of duties: Sessional Lecturer will conduct 4-hrs. tutorial per week, marking, student contact, office hours, meeting with course supervisor, & TA support. Creates written and oral prompts and other items as needed.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
