Course Description: A prominent thesis in the fields of planning and economic geography is that the presence of creative occupations in a city correlates positively with the overall health of urban regions. This course will investigate the nature of this link from theoretical and empirical perspectives and examine its potential usefulness in a planning/policy context.

Class Schedule:   Mondays, 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Sessional dates of appointment:  January 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026

Salary:                                                  Sessional Lecturer I - $9,997.47.

                                                                         Sessional Lecturer I Long-term - $10,699.21.

                                                                         Sessional Lecturer II - $10,699.21.

                                                                          Sessional Lecturer II Long-term - $10,953.96;
 Sessional Lecturer III - $10,953.96.

                                                                          Sessional Lecturer III Long-term - $11,228.90

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Qualifications:

PhD in related field preferred

MA in related field

At least 5 years of experience teaching at the university level

At least 5 years of experience marking undergraduate essays

Evidence of recent teaching effectiveness

Ability to teach online if required

Brief description of duties: Preparing course outline and syllabus. Delivering lectures; developing and administering grading, course assignments. Holding office hours. Grading of assignments and providing student feedback.
