Course Description: This is an online course* This course will focus on an examination of the immediate difficulties facing Toronto and by extension all Canadian cities. Instruction will consist of a combination of lectures by the instructor and by noted experts/practitioners in a range of topic areas including urban governance, finance, planning, environmental sustainability and social welfare.

Class Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025
Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,820.70.
Sessional Lecturer I Long-term - $10,510.03.
Sessional Lecturer II - $10,510.03.
Sessional Lecturer II Long-term - $10,760.27;
Sessional Lecturer III - $10,760.27.
Sessional Lecturer III Long-term - $11,030.35.
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Qualifications:
PhD in related field preferred
MA in related field
At least 5 years of experience teaching at the university level
At least 5 years of experience marking undergraduate essays
Evidence of recent teaching effectiveness
Ability to teach online if required
Brief description of duties: Preparing course outline and syllabus. Delivering lectures; developing and administering grading, course assignments. Holding office hours. Grading of assignments and providing student feedback.
