About UTemp

UTemp provides the University of Toronto with a diverse range of talented short-term staff to cover casual vacancies of less than six months. UTemp handles each project with a unique hands-on approach to ensure we find the best candidate for the job. We strive to create long-lasting and successful relationships by finding individuals with strong office skills and an open-minded work ethic.  Examples of short-term positions include: administrative, office management, accounting, finance, IT, website management, graphic design, motion graphics, film editing, human resources, event planning, student services, fundraising, communications and project management.

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Ideal UTemp candidates are knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic, with demonstrated abilities to pick up new skills quickly. They have strong administrative skills complemented by experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Quercus, Rosi, SAP, project management software or other desirable programs. Candidates who are ready for a challenge and have some work experience in a college or university environment, government, non-profit, or the private sector are most sought after for jobs. Our candidates understand that the work we provide is subject to the current short-term opportunities at the University of Toronto (ranging from four hours to five and a half months).

 

Education

  • Variable, as we are more interested in your work history.

 

Experience

  • Three plus years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Ability to learn quickly with minimal training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility, initiative, innovative, with the ability to work and learn proactively. Strong public service orientation, excellent communication skills, emotionally intelligent with evidence of effective teamwork are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties independently and carry out projects of varying complexity for extended periods of time.
