The Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough is a vibrant department organized into five areas of study (behavioural neuroscience, clinical, cognition, developmental and social). While providing students with curricula to foster deep grounding in one or more disciplinary traditions, the Department also fosters research at all levels. Your opportunity:
In the Department of Psychology, we pride ourselves on educating and preparing students for professional careers in the field. Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Finance, you will be the first point of contact for program-related enquiries. You will assist with the coordination of a wide range of program-related administration to ensure students and faculty are set up for success.
As a member of our highly collaborative team, you will work closely with the Program Administrators to ensure the effective running of the Department of Psychology's undergraduate programs. You will be responsible for acting as the first point of contact for students providing program and service information. You will also coordinate and support logistics for courses, program activities and events; course enrollment; syllabi collection and review; tests, examinations and grades submissions; maintaining/editing information on digital platforms (e.g. website); promotion of programs and recruitment events and various administrative duties (e.g. booking rooms, taking minutes, coordinating meeting agendas, action follow-up items).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for program-related enquiries
- Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements (including procedures and deadlines)
- Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course materials (including program schedules, test and exam packages, exam printing)
- Coordinating the recruitment and training process for teaching assistants (e.g. preparing DDAH forms, scheduling meetings, verifying progress on tasks)
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming (e.g. coordinate space, equipment, promotion, materials, catering)
- Maintaining course information on student information systems
- Collecting and submitting grades (including organizing materials for grading)
- Collecting supporting documentation required for records and enrollment processing (e.g. processing interim course enrollments)
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of related experience providing academic program support to faculty and disseminating detailed program and service information to students
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams )
- Experience working with Student Information Systems (e.g. Acorn, ROSI, Quercus)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), including presentation skills
- Ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff and students in a tactful, professional and diplomatic manner
- Superb organizational, coordination and time management skills
- Ability to be thorough when reviewing documentation that must meet specific criterion and have excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

USW Pay Band 10 -- $70,844. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,595. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
