Reporting to the Department Manager, the Undergraduate Program Manager will oversee the Department of Psychology’s Undergraduate Program and the team of undergraduate staff in providing administrative and program support including, analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements; implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards; overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs; and planning and implementing group workflow. The Undergraduate Program Manager will also build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and strategic partners; plan and develop educational programs and courses; coordinate tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders, and plan and estimate financial resources for programs and projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance; coordinating tasks and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
- Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
- Analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements
- Overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs; implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards
- Developing effective and cost-efficient recruitment plans; overseeing space and resource requirements for programs
- Keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements
- Advising staff on the interpretation of academic regulations and its impact to student records and assessments
- Planning and implementing workflow for a group; providing proactive support to individuals in distress and making referrals to specific university services
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum six (6) years' relevant experience in developing student and instructor recruitment plans; conducting detailed analysis of trends and implementing program improvements; staying abreast of policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements; academic student counselling and maintenance of program standards; and planning and estimating resources for programs and/or projects.
- Experience providing administrative support to undergraduate programs, including processing student data, preparing reports, coordinating room assignments, and maintaining files and records.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and internal/external partners to plan, coordinate, communicate, and execute events and activities.
- Experience with referencing, interpreting, and applying relevant policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis on program efficiency, student learning outcomes, and internal/external trends and recommend educational programming improvements.
- Demonstrated skill in supervising and leading staff, project teams, or equivalent experience implementing workflow for a group; ability to provide direction and mentorship in overseeing day-to-day operational needs and service delivery requirements of programs.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives, student grade submission processes, and meetings with stakeholders.
- Demonstrates awareness and understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles in the context of the undergraduate student experience and applies it to deliver contextually relevant advice and student support.
- Very strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills with customer service orientation to effectively support students, staff, team members, and the general public.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills to discretely handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge of Administrative Management Systems (AMS) and relevant applications such as, ROSI, ACORN, Degree Explorer, or equivalent tools.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 16 -- $101,539. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $129,851. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
