Under the general supervision of the Director, Information & Instructional Services, you will be primarily responsible for supporting database programming and management, working along side other DatabaseAdministrators at the Faculty. You will be responsible for running data queries, performing data analysis and troubleshooting database issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing database programing for new and existing systems
  • Designing and optimizing databases, including developing and maintaining a dashboard for key performance indicators
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Running queries to gather data andproduce statistical information and graphics
  • Analyzing and writing program scripts to extract, reformat and analyze data and metrics
  • Probing for information to establish needs and to determine requirements for ad-hoc data requests
  • Disseminating data reports and data quality reports
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in computer science, software engineering, statistics, or econometrics; or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum three years related experience in database programming, data management and analysis, and relational databases.
  • Proven experience in managing and safeguarding patient records in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of relational databases; data query tools such as JotForm, FileMaker, axiUm EHR, MiPACS, Crystal Report, SQL, Oracle, or other similar tools; advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills, intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of PHIPA and FIPPA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address privacy-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance patient health and student education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and initiative, ability to learn new skills.

USW Pay Band 09 -- $66,715. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $85,319. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
