Your opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Director, the On-Location Team Lead will oversee the ongoing design, development, and delivery of theOn-Location portfolio in CLSS. The On-Location Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the day to day work of Learning Strategist staff embedded in various partner locations across campus, liaising with the relevant Divisional and university partners; overseeing day to day administration and communications; assessing programs; reporting on team expenditures, and representing CLSS on Student Life and University committees.
The On-Location Team Lead is responsible for working with staff to develop programs and services that foster academic skill development, community connections, and coping strategies for an academically diverse population undergraduate, graduate, and professional students; recruiting, training and supporting professional and student staff to enhance programming co-delivered with appropriate partners; working with Student Life Communications and Information Technology to develop materials and supports to enhance the program; engaging with faculty members to develop programming that responds to the academic needs of students within specific programs and courses, examples may include course-specific in-class presentations and peer facilitated sessions; and meeting individually and in small groups with students to clarify and problem solve individual issues related to academic progress and success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and overseeing operational workflow of all on-location administration activities
- Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of on-location learning support plans and related activities
- Planning and developing educational programs and courses independently
- Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities
- Developing student assessment plans to support student learning outcomes and competencies
- Providing advanced academic and learning skills counselling
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a related program of study (e.g. education) or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum five years in academic support in a multi-disciplinary setting to undergraduate students at the university-level.
- Must be an experienced supervisor with previous responsibilities for mentoring, resolving issues, applying and implementing processes, and training staff.
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills for supervising the day-to-day work of staff, collaborating with faculty and other partners, fostering student development and negotiating conflict.
- Must be able to demonstrate success in facilitating partnerships with constituents from a variety of institutional areas, and excellence in project management.
- Ability to initiate independent collaborations with faculty and staff to enhance students' learning experiences and sense of belonging.
- Excellent skills in managing projects through effective setting of priorities and organization.
- Outstanding leadership skills to foster a supportive team environment.
- Must be an experienced and recognized facilitator of groups and developing of programs.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, design, and assessment.
- Experience with and knowledge of best online practices, and the use of learning management systems.
- Excellent computer skills (e.g. Access, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Creative problem solving skills.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 15 -- $95,627. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $122,290. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
